Chapter 12 – The Subconscious Mind
What an amazing world we live in today.
In the blink of an eye, technology gives us the ability to tap into the genius of people who are masters in teaching personal development. People like Jim Rohn, Bob Proctor and Tony Robbins, all have YouTube channels with a wealth of information that you can hear over and over and over again.
It’s not uncommon for me to go to bed with my phone and earbuds. I search YouTube and within seconds, I’m in a workshop listening to personal development gurus or network marketing millionaires. The power of their stories reaches deep into my subconscious mind, so much that I lose track of time. Yikes, it’s 2 AM!!
This past week Steve Porter suggested I read “Go for the No.” I’d heard of this book for years, but for some reason I wasn’t particularly interested in reading it. But because Steve recommended it, I went to Amazon, purchased the Kindle version, and within 5 minutes, I realized why he thought I would benefit from it. BTW: It’s an awesome read!
We are constantly bombarded by subliminal messages every day. People are trying to get us to think a certain way and fill us with negativity. It’s crucial that we protect our minds from the negative and infuse them with positive, because here’s the reality. As soon as we announce to people that we are going to be successful at network marketing, we will be hit by negativity.
“You’re going to do what???” “You know those things are scams.” “No one ever makes money at that.”
Be prepared. And be prepared to distance yourself from the naysayers. Surround yourself with people who talk ideas instead of gossip. Surround yourself with people who have dream boards, goals, and action plans. Become friends with the people who have real results in MLM. Attend events with others who are on a similar path.
Gradually, you will see differences in the way you think and the way you talk.
And most importantly, you will begin to see RESULTS in your business, too!
