When I read this chapter it really caused me to pause and think for a moment. Mr. Hill says, “Sex desire is the most powerful of human desires. When driven by this desire, men develop keenness of imagination, courage, willpower, persistence, and creative ability unknown to them at other times.”
In the past I negotiated deals. Whenever I saw a property I wanted, I usually got it. I never allowed negative thoughts enter my mind. If I want it, I got it. However, I was never more determined to win than the day I met my wife. Failure was not an option. I was going to win.
Mr. Hill continues, “The men who have accumulated great fortunes and achieved outstanding recognition in literature, art, industry, architecture, and the professions, were motivated by the influence of a woman.”
I've been very ambitious since I was a young boy. Everything I did, I did for my mother. I wanted my mom to be proud of me. But when I met my wife, I was compelled to accomplish my goals. In fact, I created new goals with her in mind. Just like failure is not an option, there was no room in my mind for negativity. I was her knight in shiny armor that has arrived to her rescue. I guess I unconsciously switched from thoughts of the physical to some other nature.
Mr. Hill goes on to say, “Men who succeed in an outstanding way, seldom do so before the age of forty, and more often they do not strike their real pace until they are well beyond the age of fifty.”
This statement also describes me. I am much more focused now than when I was in my 40’s. I’m obsessed with self-development. As I write this lesson, I am in my hotel room at 1:10am (PST) in Las Vegas after a 3-day event, which Anthony Robbins and Sir Richard Branson spoke.
I am striking my real pace. I know this to be true because I am here with you Michael. And I’m here with my mastermind group at Mentoring For Free. Right now I feel lifted far above the horizon of ordinary thought and I don’t want to come down from this exalted plane of thought. Failure is not an option.
