Chapter 5 Specialized Knowledge
"To make more we must become more." Michael Dlouhy
In this journey through Think and Grow Rich, possibly my 6th trip, I begin to appreciate how one chapter follows logically after the previous one. While critical, specialized knowledge doesn't mean a lot without a burning desire developed through faith and auto-suggestion to direct it. In other words, when we know where we are going and are determined to get there, we realize we need tools and those can come through activities such as attending MFF's weekly marketing and advertising skills calls, learning Tom Schreiter's scripts and dialogs, becoming an expert blogger, and/or learning how to use social media, to name a few.
The specialized knowledge we need follows logically from our desires. Another way to get the info or develop the skills we need is through the mastermind we have on every MFF call or from talking to our mentor. How often have you been on a call, had a question, and sometimes before you ever get a chance to ask it, someone gives the answer? Or sometimes you ask a question and that gets a response that generates further discussion and takes everyone on the call to another level of understanding. This kind of group energy is a powerful source of specialized knowledge.
Self-development is another area of specialized knowledge available at MFF.
Why does MFF put such an emphasis on self-development? The answer is in Michael's quote...we must become more to make more. We must become the leaders that attract new customers and new distributors into our business and that means developing the kind of self-confidence that causes people to be eager to follow us.
Years ago I sponsored someone into my business who was way more experienced than I was. Fortunately I had upline that helped with the process and wouldn't let this individual come in directly under one of them although that would have been everyone's preference. Everyone knew I didn't have the specialized knowledge in the form of self-confidence or skills to help this person succeed, but they fell in love with the product so joined under me anyway....and before long quit to join another company.
Now I know that to consistently inspire others to join me I must acquire specialized knowledge at all levels from self-development to specific skills related to network marketing. Fortunately I now have MFF to help me do that. Hill expresses it like this: "The accumulation of great fortunes calls for power and power is acquired through highly organized and intelligently directed specialized knowledge..." He adds that the individual accumulating the fortune does not necessarily have to have that knowledge in their possession....it can come via the mastermind.
