Is seems to me that autosuggestion has to be applied continually throughout the day 24/7 and mixed with emotion for any substantial results to be gained. What I have observed in my own life is that if I I am not constantly conscious about self talk and very disciplined in engaging in it I will have gone two days before I realize that I have defaulted back to where I was. I have heard it said that whatever is easy to do is also easy not to do and so I personally have to continually remind myself to engage in self talk. I sometimes wonder if others have the same problem?
Mr. Hill says do not become discouraged if you cannot control and direct your emotions the first time you try to do so. Remember there is no such possibility of something for nothing. Ability to reach and influence your subconscious mind has its price and you must pay that price. You cannot cheat even if you desire to do so. The price of the ability to influence your subconscious mind is everlasting persistence and applying the principles described here you cannot develop the desired ability for a lower price. This statement tells me that it is not an easy task but a very necessary task if we want to meet our objectives and receive our reward.
He also says that my ability to use the principle of autosuggestion will depend very largely upon my capacity to CONCENTRATE upon a given desire until that desire becomes a burning obsession and I do believe that that is where my problem lies, being able to concentrate or calming the chatter as Michael would say. It is pretty amazing to me that the subconscious will believe anything you tell it, a lie as well as the truth. Another truth that I have picked up is that autosuggestion is a necessity for building faith.
So the conclusion that I have come to is that I need to continually use autosuggestion mixed with emotion no matter how hard it may seem for the change I need in my thinking that will lead to my success.
