Everybody knows that the subconscious mind transmits signals which control the autonomous bodily functions such as heart rate, breathing, etc. The subconscious mind stores all memories, sensory perceptions we have experienced, for retrieval as needed. We take this for granted - never really consciously thinking about it.
Everyone has experienced, at one time or another, feelings triggered by the deep emotions put forth by others. We don't actively think about this phenomenon, or of the emotions that such "transmissions" trigger in our own minds. This is the receiving of "thoughts released by others" Hill is directing our attention to. We may "receive" these feelings via body language during a face-to-face encounter, or by means of attitude and tone of voice when on the phone, or in written social media. Further, any hidden agenda will subconsciously transmit itself to our audience in this manner.
This is why it is so important to say our self-talk and be in the now with the eight positive emotions because when we are calling our clients they can feel exactly how we are feeling. Because I am such a logical thinker I have to work hard on myself daily saying the self-talk and living in the now before I even think of picking up the phone. I have tried it both ways and the results were very different. I know if I want positive results and folks calling me back then I must do the mental work ahead of time. I have developed a little rountine every morning to make sure I am living in the now and giving the person on the other end of the phone my very best self , focusing on how I can help them meet their needs.
