This weeks Coaches Corner Mastermind was an amazing call. I want to say "best ever," but being continually impressed, I reserve that judgement.
For the new person or someone just tuning in some of the discussion probably challenges reason. Even after two and a half years with the group and even more years open to the line of thought, I find some of the concepts challenging as well.
Being a "green" I need proof positive and empirical data to back up any suppositions.
Science and deductive reason are my friends. While good arguments can be made for this process, it is in essence walking by sight. I spent most of my life walking by sight.
Observation of the results of this process and perhaps maturity have led me to question the wisdom of this thinking. Of late I am drawn to different patterns of thought. I defer to the recommendation found in the owners manual, "Walk by faith, not by sight."
I do not fault the scientific process, as it has given us much good and improved the quality of life for so many today. I just observe that relying solely on this for truth at the exclusion of faith is potentially flawed and limiting.
Prior to the scientific age relying solely on observation led to some very flawed conclusions. For centuries people believed the earth was flat and that the sun and the stars went round the us- we were the center of the universe. Fueled by many negative emotions, fear, superstition and even greed and ego the dark ages perpetuated through seven centuries. Add to this, "the powers that be" of the period worked to maintain control over an illiterate and fearful society by keeping them in the dark. Certainly there was no encouragement to learn to think much less "learning how to think."
It is with this thought it occurs to me, is history repeating itself? You could say we live in the most enlightened and literate age of all time. You have to wonder how such an advanced culture can have such a flawed educational system. While appearing to give weight to becoming educated the rewards-the big payday comes not to the educators nor, in most cases, to the educated, but to some of the shallowest of endeavors. Hate to give a specific name, but the best example to illustrate, "keeping up with the Kardasions."
Is this a conspiracy? Are "they" happy with the state of the majority. Don't know, but maybe it is worthy of some observation and thought.
What I know for sure is that after years of subjecting my subconscious to all sorts of negative influences, both from within and without, I have learned that I have the power to "stop" it. I have complete control over what enters the fertile ground of my most powerful subconscious mind. I have the ability to chose "learning how to think"over allowing myself to be "told what to think."
PS. Thanks so much to the members of this group who help me by sharing their brilliance. Thanks to Michael and Linda for providing this opportunity week after week and for continually reminding me "You are perfect just as you are. You do not have to change who you are to have success in your life and your business. We believe in you."
