Chapter 10

Until I joined MFF, I had never heard the term "Mastermind."  I now know I have been involved in Mastermind groups almost all my life: from the Sunday School classes that came together to study, share, and support each other; to the study groups in which I participated in high school, college, and, especially, graduate school; to treatment team  meetings in my original work, and to family meetings where we all made decisions and supported each other.

Napoleon Hill broke down the POWER of the MASTERMIND into three areas.

Matthew 18:20 states, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them."  This the POWER of the MASTERMIND demonstrated through INFINITE INTELLIGENCE.

Treatment team meetings are made up of professionals of different areas of  expertise.  In my  case, the treatment team was made up of physicians with internal medicine and psychiatry, the business office, case managers, nurses, social workers, and chemical dependency therapists.  This is the POWER OF THE MASTERMIND demonstrated through ACCUMULATED EXPERIENCE.

When I was younger, chemistry lab, deciding with my brother what to get together for our parents, and scheming with girlfriends on how to get certain guys as boyfriends was the POWER of the MASTERMIND as demonstrated through EXPERIMENT AND RESEARCH.

Hill wrote, "The world will not long remember this lesson."

This reminded me of Abraham Lincoln's immortal words in The Gettysburg Address, which he spoke on November 19, 1863, at the dedication of a new cemetery honoring those fallen in the War Between the States:  "...The world will little note, nor, long remember, what we say here, while it can never forget what they did here."

Putting these words in context, those we wish to bring into MFF won't remember all we tell them, but they will definitely pay close attention to what we DO.

Thanks to Michael and Linda, Bob, everyone on the calls, and especially Nathan, in working through the MASTERMIND in getting me through a tough week.
