The Eighth Step toward Riches

PERSISTENCE is an essential factor in the procedure of transmuting DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. The basis of persistence is the POWER OF WILL.

When we have the heart to persist it is our will-power, and that will carry us through to the completion of meeting our desire. We need to see how important persistence in the process of transmuting desire into it's physical equivalent. If we lack persistence, we will not attain our goals when trouble comes.

Will-power and desire, when properly combined, make an irresistible pair. Men who accumulate great fortunes are generally known as cold-blooded, and sometimes ruthless. Often they are misunderstood. What they have is willpower, which they mix with persistence, and place back of their desires to insure the attainment of their objectives.

Combining our will power our persistence with desire are a powerful mixture. When we bake a cake, we need to mix the right proportions of all the ingredients to make a delicious cake, pie or cookies (umm getting hungry) if we do not have the proper mixture the cake will fail. Likewise if we do not have persistence in our mix, we like that ill mixed cake will fail.

There may be no heroic connotation to the word “persistence,” but the quality is to the character of man what carbon is to steel.

While there is no equivalent word of persistence which tells us of the courage it take to continue on in the face of adversity it is to our character what carbon is to steel. When steel is being manufactured one of the ingredients that is used (5% to 15% of mixture) is carbon. The reason this ingredient is added is to iron is iron is malleable to a certain extent, but adding carbon make the iron stronger and harder and it is then called steel.

We can come against great adversary in pursuit of our goals. From friends and family who will call you crazy and try to convince you to stop, to a spouse abandoning you, because they cannot see what you see.

You will be thought unreasonable, foolishly stubborn. Now without persistence we will fold and crumble under the weight of these challenges. Self sabotage is another factor we may face when trying to make a change that is against what we once believed. If we are to become more, we must recognize that we are our greatest opponent. But we can over come any lack of PERSISTENCE Persistence will make us stronger and harder against all challenge and adversity.

Once we have learned to persist each act of persistence will make it easier for the nest time we need persistence. Like building a muscle in our body, we strive against it's weight again and again and our muscles become stronger and stronger and harder and harder, so it is when we practice/exercise working the Muscle of PERSISTENCE in the gym of adversary.

It is this element of PERSISTENCE that will help us stay the course where those without persistence would throw in the towel and call it quits..The value of Persistence cannot be understated it is of indeterminable value

The majority of people are ready to throw their aims and purposes overboard, and give up at the first sign of opposition or misfortune. A few carry on DESPITE all opposition, until they attain their goal. These few are the Fords, Carnegies, Rockefellers, and Edisons.

So many people have a tendency to chuck it al in when adversary comes their way to block them. They are almost always lost in obscurity and no one remembers. Their name. There are some however who have been persistent in the face of great odds. Edison over 6,000 experiments before he finally found the materials to go into the filament to create the light bulb. Ford who faced engineers that told him an engine design he desired could not be don again ad again he set them back to the drawing board ad they discovered not only cold it be done they did it. George Washington Carver persisted in his study of the peait and gave us many items that have helped improve our lives. I love peanut butter. I spent 5 years in my first MLM and I was persistent even though I gave that one up, I persisted (weakly) for 24 years in network marketing. My muscle of PERSISTENCE Had weakened in the process. But I feel that muscle coming back I am ready, I am ALL IN. I Persist.

Here is something I observed. In this lesson. These men named here, who have persisted, who have mixed Persistence with their desire, their names and their accomplishments have also persisted throughout world history. We continue to benefit from each of their results, Because they had Persistence.
