The author writes “there comes to your aid, and to do your bidding, with the development of the sixth sense, a “guardian angel."
I have experienced that guardian angel many times in my life. The latest was in April this year. I had been experiencing chest pain and went to the doctor to have it checked out. After several extensive tests on my heart they all came back clear and I was diagnosed with indigestion.
My father was having heart surgery the following week so I drove the three hours to Birmingham, Al from Nashville, TN to be with him during his surgery. When I arrived we all had dinner and I retired for the evening because I was not feeling well. I had to sit up in bed to sleep because the indigestion was so bad. The next day my father’s surgery went well. Later that evening, I went back to my room for the night and had to sleep sitting up in bed again. When I awoke the next morning I was extremely short of breath. I visited my dad for a while and contacted my Doctor and asked for an appointment, because I was having issues with the indigestion. I drove the three hours back to Nashville and the next morning went to my doctor’s appointment. My chief complaint was that I was short of breath. They took x-rays and did some lab work and when the lab results came back I was rushed to the emergency room. I didn’t really know why, but when I was met in the Vanderbilt University Emergency room by the full cardiac team I was informed that I was having a pretty serious heart attack. However I was not experiencing any pain, I was not afraid because I had just been tested and my heart was fine the week before. In any case they rushed me into the cardiac cath lab and opened up a 100% blocked artery in my heart with a stent.
The reason I tell this is because of the guardian angel that was obviously right there guiding me safely home from Birmingham and into the hospital the next day so that I would be able to attend my daughter’s wedding the next week which I was able to do. I can’t explain this, but based on the type of heart attack I was having called a STEMI which indicates a significant part of the heart muscle is dying. Today I do not have any significant damage to my heart due to the heart attack. Thanks to my guardian angel.
